FIRST-EVER ACT HUMAN RIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL

THE DEPARTMENT OF Communication Studies hosted the inaugural ACT Human Rights Film Festival April 15-22. The event showcased 18 curated films covering issues that ranged from hunger, homelessness and women’s rights to the fight for democracy, GLBTQ rights in Africa, and art as resistance and cultural resilience. Nonprofit and student organization representatives were on hand before and after screenings to help connect filmgoers to information and opportunities for getting involved in solutions.
