Bryan Wilson is researching how to reduce emissions from two-stroke engines and indoor cookstoves for the developing world in the Engines and Energy Conversion Lab, now part of the world-renowned Energy Institute at the Powerhouse.

14th President

Dr. Tony Frank becomes president of Colorado State University, after serving as provost, vice president for research, and in many other academic roles at CSU since 1993. He has been Chancellor of the CSU System since 2019.

Marching thru Dublin

CSU is named the best marching band to perform in the annual St. Patrick’s Festival Parade in Dublin, Ireland.


Clarification

While Sherwood Forest was originally planted in 1937 as a “living library” of Colorado trees, it never contained every species native to the state. Today, the grove next to the Michael Smith Natural Resources Building provides an engaging natural area on campus; “Hug a Tree in Sherwood Forest” is one of the 70 things students should do before they graduate.

Correction

The photo of CSU’s first football team that appeared in the Fall 2022 issue of CSU Magazine was taken in 1893 by Steven Seckner, and provided by John Hirn (B.A., ’93), volunteer historian for CSU Athletics, who also was the source for the photo of Fum McGraw on Page 41 of that issue.
