Colorado State continues to receive national recognition for living its commitment to sustainability.

For the second year in a row, CSU was named the top overall performer among doctoral institutions in the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s 2021 Sustainable Campus Index. The University has earned this highest rating four times in seven years, while also becoming the world’s first institution to reach platinum status in AASHE’s international STARS – Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System – three times.

Campus engineers are also working toward generating 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030, a goal of the Climate Action Plan approved by the Board of Governors that provides a roadmap to carbon neutrality by 2040.
